What types of funds are available?
Choose from four types of funds
General Fund Many donors choose to give to the Foundation's General Fund. The majority of grants are awarded from the General Fund, and it is this fund that allows the Foundation to respond quickly to the changing needs of the community. Usually only the earnings of the gifts are distributed. Over the years, even the smallest gifts make important grants to the community possible. |
Unrestricted Fund You may create a separate, unrestricted fund. Grants can be made in perpetuity from the fund, in the name you choose, and at the discretion of the foundation's board of directors. |
Donor-Advised Fund You may create a named, advised fund. The foundation will, from time to time, consider suggestions from you, or your descendants, as to the use of the income. You may also change your fund at any time to an unrestricted fund. |
Special Donor Fund You may designate a specific charity, or you may suggest the area of interest you wish to support, such as: health care, a scholarship fund, environment, the needy, the arts, etc. The board then selects appropriate grant recipients for your fund's income. |
